Monaro Purple Garlic
Allium Sativum var. ophioscorodon
Grown for more than 20 years on the Monaro, this hardneck, mid-season Rocambole type produces med-large bulbs with ~12 cloves per bulb. Cloves are high quality with purple tips or solid purple. Skin white with purple streaks. Beautiful flavour. Requires cold winters for optimum growth.

From South Australia, this soft neck, mid-season Californian type has large, white bulbs and cloves with a curvaceous indentation at the base. It has a classic, full-flavour with around 10 cloves per bulb. It stores longer than hardneck types.
